Memorandum of Understanding between the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University Iustinianus Primus Faculty of Law-Skopje and the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace

The Dean of the Iustinianus Primus Faculty of Law, Prof. Sasho Georgievski PhD, and the President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, H.E. Ahmed Al Jarwan, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 21.11.2025, at the Faculty of Law in Skopje.

The Memorandum sets the foundation for the joint organization of international conferences for the promotion of a culture of peace and tolerance, support for students at the Faculty of Law and recognition of the Council as a factor in spreading the culture of peace and tolerance in the world.

H.E. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan is an international leader recognized for his efforts in promoting tolerance, interfaith dialogue, and peaceful cooperation. He is the founder and president of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP), an organization established to strengthen parliamentary, educational and civil society initiatives that oppose discrimination and foster peaceful coexistence.

The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace is an international organization founded in 2017 in Malta. The mission of the Council is to promote the values ​​of tolerance and foster a culture of peace worldwide, in line with the principles of the United Nations and international law. The Council has active cooperation and members from 100 parliaments around the world.

Since 2018, it has been closely cooperating with the institutions in the country. The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace has an office in Skopje led by Prof. Zoran Ilievski PhD, a full professor at the Faculty of Law, from where the activities of the Council for the entire region of South-East Europe are coordinated.

Within the framework of the visit of H.E. Ahmed Al Jarwan, a round table was held at the Faculty of Law commemorating International Day of Tolerance, which was attended by professors from the Faculty of Law and statesmen from the country and abroad.
