The Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the Faculty of law “Iustinianus Primus”-Skopje and the Association for strategy development, research, education and promotion of international values ESTIMA have the honour to invite you to take part of the panel discussion and presentation of the publication titled as “Hope for the Best, Prepare for the Worst: Is North Macedonia 16.05. 11:00 h Vulnerable to Economic Pressure by the People’s Republic of China?”.
The event will take place on 16th of May at the Library of the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus”-Skopje starting at 11:00 a.m.
The key points of the publication will be presented by one of the authors of the Publication,Ana Krstinovska from the Association for strategy development, research, education, and promotion of international values ESTIMA.
After the presentation of the paper a reflection to the topic will be given by the Official representative of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in North Macedonia Daniel Braun and the professors from the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus”-Skopje, Prof. Vasko Naumovski, Prof. Aleksandar Spasenovski and Prof. Aleksandar Lj. Spasov.
*The paper published by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and ESTIMA at hand analyzesNorth Macedonia’s vulnerabilities towards economic pressure from the People’s Republic of China in three main areas: trade, investments and external public debt. Draws on the experience of other countries it aims to raise awareness about China’s economic coercion as a tool enabling China to use its economic advantage against these countries to pursue political goals, with different outcomes.*
Working languages of the event will be Macedonian and English. Simultaneous translation will be provided.
